HEAT Online

HEAT Online is the newest version of Level-R and Project Torque hosted by Innologin Ltd. With the demise of Project Torque on Aeria Games, Project Torque has been renamed HEAT Online and is available in Beta service (as of August 17, 2010).
HEAT Online is still a free-to-play multi player online racing game, but has some aspects that are unique and different in comparison to its predecessors. It is a North American service and is only available for North American players, because Innologin only has a license for the North American territory.
Free to Play - No Registration Required
Players have the opportunity to try HEAT Online without registering. However, if a player wants to keep items and points earned during play they will need to register for a full account. All that’s needed is an e-mail address and password.
HEAT Online is set up in realistic arcade mode as it’s easier to learn than simulation handling. It will still be hard to master and pose a challenge to racers.
HEAT Online Made Up Cars
Offering dozens of made up cars, HEAT Online players will have the option of picking their cars and paying with game points (PP) or real money (CP). A mixed system is planned in the in-game item mall to allow racers to buy cars for good or rent and test cars for a set time period. Upgrades and body parts will not be available to rent, but will be permanent.
HEAT Online Game Modes
VS
Simple and traditional, VS is a purely competitive game mode allowing a racer to compete against up to 7 other online players on circuit tracks, off-road tracks and street tracks. The fastest racer wins.
CTF (Catch the Flag) Game Mode
HEAT Online staff have been asked to integrate a Catch the Flag (CTF) game mode with HEAT Online. Discussions between host (Innologin Ltd.) and developer (Invictus) have determined that HEAT Online will have a CTF mode in the future as the developer will need time to incorporate this new game mode.
Drift Game Mode
Drift is the best game mode for racers who love to drift or slide around the curves of the race tracks. High-speed and longer drifts will earn a player more drift points when competing against opponents.
Thunder Alley (TA) Game Mode
Similar to NASCAR, HEAT Online is the stock car racing mode allowing players to tear up the asphalt with one of the five stock car types available. Players have the opportunity of competing against 19 other racers!
Crew vs. Crew Tournament System
A feature of previous Level-R racing games that gives players the ability to create and join crews (racing teams or clans) is available in HEAT Online. With a new update HEAT Online crews will have the ability to join Tournaments against other crews. HEAT Online crews will have to fight their way to the top of the ladder system in Crew Battles to prove they are the best. Winners of crew tournaments will be rewarded with unique cars.
HEAT Online Affiliate Program
HEAT Online affiliate program has been launched to give referring racers a gift to say ‘thank you.’ Everyone will be assigned a “Referrer ID” that can be used by friends racers invite to HEAT Online. They’ll need to input this “Referrer ID” when registering to give the credit.
As of September 7, 2010 inviters will get 10 Double XP and 10 Double RP items when their invitees reach Level 15. This gift will be received each time when one of their invitees reaches Level 15.
In addition to inviters receiving a gift, the invitees will receive 3 cars; a 7 day Kawana, a 3 day C-Racer 4x4, and a 3 day TA Rookie.
